smelly cat ??

Any info, 2003 leon cupra. My exhaust has started to smell rather whiffy, is this the first signs of my cat starting to fail.

Can any one direct me towards a good supplier of after market exhausts for my car in the west coast Scotland area.

Smell of rotten eggs? The catalyst is fine, it's doing its job of catalysing excess unburned fuel. You're overfuelling, or you havea misfire and fuel vapour is coming through unburned. Try to get it onto VAG-com or diagnosed at a dealer (which will cost unortunately).

I think I may have a coil about to go, another thing the engine is just not revving all the way as it has been doing, I have custom code 1, DV07, piper cross fast flow filter, so engine should be revving its nuts off. Thanks for your reply.

Over-filling the engine oil can damage the cat. JBS Autodesigns and Awesome GTI are both doing good deals on Milltek exhausts at the moment and I would of thought that they ship to Scotland.

oil level is fine not long after a oil and filter change, think the smell could be due to a coil being on the way out, but thanks for the info.

A simple check before you get too involved, is your exhaust muddy? a muddy exhaust can give off quite a smell
