Small grilles in Cupra front bumper - removal??

The facelift FR has the Cupra bumpers. The horn sits behind the nearside grille, where the foglights are. I want to fit a better horn. The Owner Manual says to take off the grille, first remove the screw. Can I get the grille off? You must be joking[:@]

Two ways I think - either cut it off with a hacksaw and fit a new one, or wrap some string round it and attach the other end to something rigid and reverse back!

If the foglight bulbs need changing the grille has to come off anyway. So anybody removed the grille successfully without damaging anything? Why do Seat make any bulb difficult to remove on this car (apart from the interior bulb?). Of course, you have to get a dealer to do it for you!;)

its not the cupra bumper mate, far from it. It's just different grills on the standard new shape ibiza bumper.

To be honet it may just be easier to remove the bumper, it takes 5 mins to whip off the front bumper. That way you will get easier access to the horn which can be a bugger as the cables are very short so i would say whip it off. From memory its 4 scres on the top in the middle, 4-5 in each arch and 4 underneath and then she just falls off. oh and there may be 2 securing th ecentre grill to the car, but not sure on phase 2 bumpers as i have only worked on phase 1 cars. But trus me easy to do.

And no you don't have to as a dealer to change any bulbd for you, they are all easy to do, it just requires some confidence from your self and a bit of patience, virtualy all bulb removals are covered somewehre in the mk4 section. Oh and now i think of it i think the Fog light covers just pull off.

Managed to change all the front bulbs myself OK thanks (not foglights though). Just the offside cover for the sidelight/indicator was a pain to put back on.

Thought the facelift FR had the Cupra bumpers fitted now? Rear mudflaps won't fit on the Cupra or '06 onwards FR because of the shape? Anyway, doesn't really matter.

I'll probably have to take the bumper off then. Have seen instructions somewhere on how to do it somewhere. Access from under the car is not use either. Got to be worth it just to get a better horn!

cupra and new ibizas share the same rear bumper, obviously the frront bumper would not affect the ability to use mudflaps. just the rear one, you'll make Cupra owners blood boil if you say the fronts are the same, a little bug bear of cupra owners when the facelift came out.

Yes, see the front Cupra bumper is different to the FR. For one thing, the grilles with the fog lights are solid on the Cupra.
