Hi guys

Hope you are all staying safe and well.

I am still around with Lucky the Leon lol

For a number of years she has had a slight coolant leak, the level would drop just below the point in the expansion tank maybe after a month or two.
Now however it is worse dropping by several MM each longish trip.

OK so if you are looking down on the engine block, on the right side between battery and block you can see the gear change levers on what I assume is the gearbox? to the rear of this nearer the block I can see a collection of pinkish fluid (coolant coloured)
It's not easy to see in this area, I have run her to temp and checked with a torch but I can't see any leaks from the very many pipes in the area.

Clearly it needs fixing but it would greatly assist my bank balance if I can point out the likely area and source to the mechanics at JKM.

Can anyone suggest a likely point of leak?

I have attached a photo showing the area.

Thanks muchly

My coolant elbow pipe coming from the side of the block was toasted, the O ring completely bloated and the plastic on its way out.

Either that or check all the hoses and clamps on the coolant system. (y)

Hi guys, I got myself one of those telescopic mirrors and have found the leak!
On the right side, off the block.
Can anyone say for sure the exact location?

If its what I think it is its the thermostat housing and thats a common failure point.

Does it look something like this ?

It does a bit, really hard to see, but at least i can direct them to the leak which saves time and money?
