Hello all just after a bit of advice

I need to buy a slimline fan (12" puller) , been looking around and they really vary on price, was looking at the spal/kenlowe ones but theres some universal ones on ebay which are half the price, these must be as good right? or should i just play it safe and stick to a brand?

Thanks, kyle

i got one on g-werks for my G60, was about £40, as long as you dont get a seriously cheap one you should be ok.

I ordered a 12" Spal slimline fan in the end! the cheap ones on ebay look nothing quality wise compared.

I havent got the car at the mo, can someone tell me how i would wire it up? it has a positive and negative cable from the motor, is the original fan connection two wires?

plenty of options for fan switched if you wanted to alter temperature change and single/twin circuit

would it be more room and cheaper if you used smaller blowing ones on the front ?

the standard fan has 3 wires...
high speed, low speed, earth...
i just joined the low and high speed wires together and used these as the + then obviously you have the earth... just make sure that the fan does pull and doesnt blow when you fit it ;)

Thanks mate will get it fitted when I get the car back!

Flapper- I've read they are more efficient on the engine side, not sure why

i would say with a shroud yes as the air is drawn through a tunnel type arrangement through the whole rad to a single point but then once you fit a slimline one that advantage goes out the window anyway really :)

why you changing from the standard one?

Im fitting a Fiat brava radiator which has a built in expansion tank and it didnt come with a fan, so thought i might aswell upgrade and tidy the bay up a bit more with a slimline one! plus ill need one for future plans anyway!
