Hi chaps,

I need to change my air con compressor which I'm quite happy about doing, looks easy enough.

The only bit I am worried about is slacking off the aux belt to get it off the compressor, can someone just quickly talk me through it?

Cheers.

OK well It may be the same, here goes.

Get an adjustable spanner on the square bit on top of the tensioner and leaver it back, then stuff a small screwdriver through the two holes that will come into line when it's pulled back on the spring and then remove it.

Hold on and I'll post pics of the 20vt so you can see if it looks the same.

Does it look the same?

The adjustable spanner is used to leaver it back against it's built in spring, then you stuff a screwdriver through to lock it back. this leaves the belt loose so you can then remove the arm with the roller on.

Doesn't look the same to me, looks like I have to drop a spanner down there and adjust that bolt on the tensioner to get it off?

That thing in the middle of the picture.

Looks to me like it is very much the same but fitted upside down, I reckon you will need to get under the car and then it will maybe look the same.
