I got one of these for my Mk3 so i'm assuming it's all the same fixings and stuff, first thing i did was put the intermittent wipe on so I could see which way the wiper mechanism arm went when it was wiping, then depending on where you decide to have the wipers rest position you adjust the wiper mechanism accordingly then attatch the wiper, if it does overlap on one side slightly then just losen the bolt and re-align. it's one of those things that is really easy to do but tricky to explain. Also if yours is the same as mine then I suggest you have the wiper parked on the drivers side as if it is parked vertically it tends to stop in different places on the screen, and the intermittent setting becomes a bit erratic.

it gets really close to the scuttle panel the drivers side and goes onto it on the passenger side. ill adjust it tomorow but i cant see it still being rite. i spent ages messing with it getting it to were i am. should really try and follow the instructions more i suppose.

what do you think of your kit? My old mans well chuffed with his. think i will park it to the side slightly as i should imagine it can get in the way abit.

cheers for the advice mate :D

It's not flawless, but I prefer the single wiper look and it does what it needs to do so that's fine by me, I ended up getting a smaller wiper though because the one I got with the kit was too big and went off the end of the screen. Good thing is now I only have to replace one windscreen wiper and not two, and if your as lazy as me then this is a big plus :D

The only other thing I can ask is did you change all the parts you needed to, if it is over sweeping on both sides of the screen I would say they have sent you the wrong kit, possibly for the wrong model, might be worth giving them a call to find out, but mine is fine and doesn't sweep too far. I wouldn't say it was chavvy I think it gives a more aggressive look. L.E.D washer lights.......now that's chavvy.

sounds a bit of a strange one that, only thing I can think of is that it's just the wrong kit, or maybe been supplied with the wrong wiper.

i put on of those kits on my ibiza in august. it cuts the passenger side scuttle panel slightly but it looks well parked up a bit. i dont think it would be a great idea for an everyday car it doesnt have as much coverage as the factory setup

Mine is used everyday and I get on with it fine, like you said there isn't the coverage you get with the twin wiper setup but personally I think the single wiper clears enough to do the job well, oh one other thing if you are going to mount it vertically make sure you change it come M.O.T time because it will fail.

have you tried getting a smaller blade on it? mine fits pretty much exactly where it is supposed to and doesnt catch on anything. also if youve got a sun strip make sure the wiper doesnt go toooo much over it when it sweeps or it might fail the MOT depending on how good a day the MOT guy has had. the guy that does mine is sound he just tells me that t is illegal but hell pass me for it anyway :)

new scuttle panel soon as mine is abit buggered, may help a tad.
Wonder if one of the standard wipers is smaller than the one supplied.

My old mans passed the MOT in the vertical position, if you now the mot dude hell just turn a blind eye. ;)

will get a pici when iv been out in it and got the ice off.

cheers for the help
