As some of you may or may not know i currently have a new ibiza on order, for what seems like forever. However as of today i have been given 4 delivery dates (soon to be 5) all of which have not materialised with my car. However the person at the dealers i speak to everytime i hit a delivery date seems to be at a loss as to why i keep ringing him when my car doesn't turn up. Am i being overly persistant by ringing the dealer to find out what the hell is going on when my car doesn't turn up when it's suppose to and no-one rings me. I was asked today "What do you want me to do magic it out of thin air" well no but i'd like some customer service and a solid date that i can depend on!!!!! And then he's owns up and tells me "i'm sorry i should have given you the real dates the computer was telling me" Well what the ***k has he been doing. Am really at a loss as to what i should do. He's going to ring me tomorrow morning with a date, which i at least hope is real. I am not a happy person.[:@]

Don't blame you for not being happy, that is very bad practice in any profession, lying to your customers and giving them non-existant delivery dates is a big no no...

Sorry to hear of your troubles, and I think your WELL within your rights to keep at them constantly. I would be tempted to threaten to remove your order!

If I'd been spoken to as rudely as that, and then discovered that I'd been lied to as well, I would want a one-to-one chat with the manager of that dealership.

Just seems another stunt that seat seems to pull mate! The customer service really is 5hit!! My New FR eventually turned up six weeks later than originally planned, and I was given numerous delivery dates. Believe that if its 30 days later than the first date given, then you can cancel and get your deposit returned. Just demand freebies as mentioned above or threaten to withdraw your order (Speak to the organ grinder about your dissatifacion because the monkeys are uselesss). SAnyways good luck mate and fleace them for as much as you possibly can, cos be certain that they would you!

Well he did ring me this morning, turns out the computer systems are down (have no idea whether to believe him or not) and that he is unable to find out a date so he's given my number to one of his collegues who is apparently going to ring me on Monday (when the computer system should be working again) with some information. If no-one rings on Monday the manager will be getting my call. Can't really see them giving away stuff but i suppose its worth a try all he can do at the end of the day is say no and at least he gets to know of my dissatisfaction. May just ring him anyway or ask to be passed to him if when/if they do ring on monday after the organ grinders said what they have to say, as i'm really not happy at the way i've been dealt with.

You may find it useful to visit a Citizens Advice Bureau to get some help. I am pretty confident the Sale of Goods Act and the Consumers Protection Act do cater for situations like yours.
Once confident enough of your basic rights against them, you may find it easier to negotiate and get some freebies from these 5uckers. Just to give you an example, having failed to deliver on time, you have the right to withdraw from negotiations with them and go somewhere else, so do some researching it may be well worthy mate.

I have just read the terms and conditions on the back of the invoice statement - it reads - "We will try to ensure delivery of the goods by the estimated delivery date but cannot guarantee the delivery date. Except where circumstances are beyind our control you will be entitled to cancel the contract and recieve repayment of your deposit if delivery has not taken place within 28 days of the estimated delivery date unless you have agreed otherwise orally or in writing to except late delivery". However worringly it also states that 30 days after the estimated delivery date they may revalue your part-ex up to 2.5% down on the agreed value and again every subsequent 30 days, if the vehicle is delayed through no fault of their own. Now the estimated delivery date on the invoice is 15/04/2006 so 28 days after that is 14/05 which is 8 days away. I mean i was told on 19th April that the car was complete and was ready for transit, now as far as i'm aware the ibiza's are built in Spain, does it really take what will soon be 3 weeks for a shipment to reach the UK and be forwarded to a dealership. Unless of course I was again lied to. At least this now gives me a date to work around. Thanks for all your advice. What i also haven't mentioned in this thread is that previous to making this order a month before i had ordered a pre-facelift ibiza and was told the weekend before i was suppose to pick it up that it had been allocated to another dealership and customer and so i couldn't have it and there was not another black SX availible. I feel really stupid now for giving them the benefit of the doubt and ordering this one from them, though i did work out a good deal because of it. Just don't really want to start again from scratch with another dealer but may have to if i don't get some form of customer service soon.

Received a phone call from them yesterday to tell me the computer system was still down so they were still unable to give me a delivery date. This is simply ridiculous, surely they must know when and what deliveries they are getting. Does anyone have an Address or Phone Number for SEAT Customer Services so I can complain.

Go to the garage and squeeze them for all the extras! I bought a car they had in stock, paid for it and left.
Got a phone call saying they had "already sold the car"and they couldnt deliver on the specified date so i went back to the dealership, got another free tank of petrol, mats and 12 months road tax for free.

With that customer service you have a valid excuse to get yourself out of the deal with the dealership, i would go find yourself another SEAT dealership, especially as you will be more inclined to have it serviced there.

Hope you sort it out, but dont let the dealership have an easy time or you really wont get anywhere.

SEAT now seem to have reached new levels of stupidity. After being in touch with SEAT Customer Services they have informed me that when the car when ordered it was due for production on the week of the 17th April, delivery into UK on 3rd May and will be delivered to the dealership on the 15th (Monday) and that no delays have occured which is all fine and acceptable. Except that the dealership told me on the 12th April that the car was built and awaiting shipment which I now know is before it was even built and then later gave me dates for delivery again before it had even started production or reached the UK and continued to do so until customer services got involved. What the hell were they playing at they were just making a rod for their own back. If they'd given me the information SEAT UK had given me i'd have had no complaint with them, what complete idiots. At least theoretically i'll be getting my car next week!!! though not holding my breath.
