Ladies/Gents,

I have been looking at various threads and I must say there is a lot of good advice out there. A lot of what is advised is very time consuming but I understand that you guys want to have the best finish.

So the exam question:

After I have finished washing my car and dried it, which polish can you guys recommend that will give me a glossy, wet look finish? I have swirls and scratches so I'm looking for a product that is an all in one. I know to get rid of swirls I will need to get it professionally done but I cant justify the cost to get it done to this car.

I understand the effective way is to wash, clay and wash again then apply the polish but i simply do not have the time to clay and wash for the 2nd time.

Are any of you able to help me please?

Appreciated thanks!

To get rid of your swirls, you may not need it professionally done as Gtechniq P1 can be used by hand, not a perfect finish but a great improvement..

To answer your question, I'd go for Auto Finesse Tripple, easy to use, not that expensive and gets good results..

G.P: thanks for taking time to read my thread. Appreciate it and will go for the Auto Finesse Tripple! Is this a polisher too combined or will I have to apply something else after it?

Cheers mate!

what colour is your car? try using poorboys black hole or poorboys white diamond followed but poorboys EX-P

the black hole is amazing stuff! so is white diamond, but depending on how deep your scratches are the glaze should kind of hide most of them or at least take the sharp edge off them so they dont catch your eye so much.

zaino all in one is a good product, there are several good all in one products, autobrite seems to becoming an ever more popular brand of choice

I once had a black astra that was pitted with swirls I got really good results with a couple coats of autoglym srp topped off with prima banana gloss

Robaidh: Thanks for your reply. My car is black. For the polishing compounds, do I use poorboys black hole, buff and then apply the polishing compounds? Sorry if its a stupid question just want to make sure.

marty_34: Thanks for your feedback. Going to look into those products too and see how all products balance out on price. Think I have enough good advise now to start looking at costs.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. No doubt I'm sure there are many out there like me looking for a cost effective way to bring the life back out of their paintwork to a certain degree. Cheers!

prima banana gloss was about 14-15quid a bottle last time I looked

there are loads of online retailers for car care products I tend to stick to cleanyourcar.co.uk. another avenue to look at is amazon as can usually get the supersaver free post

Slickbone,

If you don't have access to a machine polisher I can recommend the following products to use:

Farecla G3 Scratch remover or Meguires ultimate compound - go over the car with either of those first

Then go over it with Autoglym Super Resin Polish, this will mask the swirls :)

+1 for autoglym super resin polish. A Couple of coats of this badboy is not easily beaten by hand. Its a cleaner, polish and sealant all in one :))

If using a machine polisher iv seen good results on black cars with dodo juice lime prime.

All In One's polish a little and then leave a little protection on your paintwork yes, depends how much work you want to do, all my family's cars get Tripple and and then Auto Finesse Tough Coat, which offers more protection than just an AIO.

A YouTube search will show product's been used that have been listed within this thread, and there are allot of products, just to confuse you!:D

I use Meguiar's ultimate quik wax for a fast polish if i'm in a hurry.

Simply spray it on, spread it about and buff off. It doesn't affect black trim either which is a bonus.

I can have the whole car done in about 20-30 mins so i tend to use it nearly every time i wash the car!
