Silver Leon ---- Black wheels.

Hallo all.

Tried my luck with the search button.. fragmented result :S Plenty of natter about black power coats and black alloys... but none of what I need..

Anyone got a pic of a Leon Cupra sitting on black 17s (any design, at this point).


Very very eager to see a Cupra sporting a set of blacks as I've had a good offer on a powder coat, fairly locally. I'm at work at the mo, otherwise I'd Photoshop a set onto pics of my own car, BUT the fella who's emailed me needs to know before the end of today otherwise he's going to have to let the deal go! :'(

Any pics, VERY much appreciated, pics or links.. in fact.

EDIT: Preferably the same silver tone as mine. Arctic Grey, is it?

To be perfectly honest Lickwid... 17's in black on a Leon will be lost... whenever you paint a wheel black it seems to shrink in visual impact and being 17's in leon arches means they are lost normally, by spraying them black they look like 16"s
Personally if you want to go black wheels i would say 18"s at least.. and if the spoke doesnt go to the edge, go 19" if you can (coilovers, suspension to aid this), add a rim on the design of the wheel and it losses a visual inch of the wheel size.. many people walk up to mine and say 18"s and i have 19"s in black with a lip... until that is they see it next to a another car with 16-17" then its a different story, its obvious the size change!

Nah it's all good, slick. Of course I value your opinion. You've made a load of mods and alterations to your car.. therfore, been there.. done that. So, I'll pay attention!

Right, well this might be a good time to consider a rim-swap. At least get some ideas and prices.

I'm a bit of an eliteist when it comes to alloys. I want top name brands and I want wheels as light as possible. I find a lot of the cheaper rims weigh a ton.

Think Dodson had black standard wheels on a blue LC, not silver I know but will give the idea..... pics on here somewhere.....

Yeh I remember Dodsons blue/black Leon.

Gorgeous example. I'd love it if my car came out with the same sorta effect. Problem is, Silver is such an "on the fence" colour.. I find it doesn't actually GO with any other colour with major cohesion. Such as black and white do.. or red and black.

I mean.. what the hell goes with Silver?!

I guess blue wheels on a silver LC might be nice...

Granted, blue would be a tad nuts. But there ya go.. I'll photoshop it. See what they look like in VR.

I do want some aesthetic changes to my car. Lowering serves a double purpose.. so that's high on my list soon as I get a damn pay-rise!!!

Lickwid, personally on your silver i think a Metal dark gunmetal i would think would look awesome, especially a high gloss one or maybe a metal flake in it... but definately a dark grey/gunmetal colour rather than black!

I agree with slick, for what it's worth. A dark grey finish would look superb on a silver car and wouldn't make the wheels look any smaller than they are.

Hmm. Gunmetal has always been a favourite colour of mine.

I know I could get them done in Ford's Sea Grey (think Focus ST colour) or their ST170 tone, Magnum Grey.

Hmm.. Food for thought.
