Model Year 21/22 Side Assit VZ2 greyed out

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I'm having with my 2021 Cupra Formentor. In the infotainment system, both Side Assist and Exit Assist are grayed out and unavailable.

I'm not sure if this is a software glitch, a fault with my specific vehicle, or if these features simply weren't included in the 2021 model year. I've noticed that the newer VZ2 trim level now has them as standard, and I've confirmed that they are indeed included. However, I haven't been able to confirm if they were available, even as options, on the 2021 model.

It would also be interesting to find out if others who don't have side assist and exit assist still have them show but greyed out or if they don't show at all.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A quick Google search for cupra formentor 2021 brochure showed below attachment.
Look at publishing date in the last page just to be sure.
You can check your trim in the list and see what's standard and optional.
Looks like VZ2 should have.

If this car is new to you, have you tried doing factory reset of infotainment system?
I don't think car manufacturers will put a greyed out option if it's not meant to be in a car originally.

I had previously looked at that booklet but noticed the following at the bottom "
Specifications refer to Model Year 2022.
While CUPRA makes every effort to make
sure that specifications are accurate at time
of going to press (08/2021), you should
always check details with your CUPRA
Retailer as there may have been changes
in view of CUPRA’s policy of continuous
product improvement. The right is reserved
to change specification and colour at any
time. The information in this price list can
therefore be given as guidance only"

The car was first registered in September 2021, but i suppose it could have been ordered before the above August date.

It seems a tricky one to find out for sure.

Thank you, I will send over later I'm on mobile and don't have it with me. I do however have the full list of pr codes for me car, do you know what I should be looking for ?

None of the codes mention side assist, I can see Lane assist etc. I wasn't sure though what code to check for.

I have a full PR list for VAG cars on hand so I can look up PR codes of side assist & exit assist (there are many variants) but the list is most probably not up to date and the different variants of PRs for the same feature might be used for different models, so exact way of being sure would be to check using VIN. Also side assist & exit assist features require radars on both sides at the back and I could confirm whether your car has those parts from factory, again, using VIN.

I will send over later thank you, the pr code list i have is from etka. I have a description of each pr codes but none mention side assist, well on the printout i have its not on there.Hopefully you will have more luck than me.

PR code list might include the feature as blind spot monitoring or lane change assist. The PR for it most likely starts with 7Y and a number at the end, where 0 is for no lane change assist and the other numbers for the variants of the feature. So no luck is needed on this one

I have the lane change assist and and i have exit warning system 79H i also have WDL and this appears to be the XL package but nothing says side assist.

Side Assist *is* the Lane Change Assist.

You will see from the picture they are just greyed out.

Yes, i have no faults though. Going to check through the "3C Lane Change Assistance" module tomorrow to see if there are any coding options where it could have been disabled by a previous owner.

Any coding to completely disable it would be more likely on the gateway installation list.
