i live in a slightly dodgy place (just off broadway in cardiff if you know the place) and currently drive a yellow leon cupra (facelift) Im looking at changing my car to either a Cupra R or perhaps a white or grey WRX (last shape) with sti bits etc. Now my question is am i asking for trouble and perhaps my house getting done over for the scooby or has my cupra baited them enough (ive not had any hassle and there is a black CTR down the road) Its a terrace house and im at the end of the road (dead end although its a walk through for people) im not sure... If not either of those cars then what (not a CTR, or an s2000) it needs to be fast look business like (ish) and be around 12-13k answers on a post card...

Personally go for an R as its a bit more understated, the scoob is "in yer face" and still a prime target for the little scrotes of the world.

If you get a scoob, you might notice people having a negative attitude towards you, as a result of some of the idiots who drive Scoobs.

See:

If I were you, I'd get a B5 Audi S4. 2.7 litre biturbo, really subtle, and goes like stink. You should be able to get a fairly low mile '00/'01 car for the money.

Take a look at the for sale section on www.rs246.com or else on pistonheads.

thanks

Andy

Scooby has a serious image problem now and as others have said is still a target for thieves. Go for the LCR and save some money on the insurace that you can then spend on modding the LCR :D

Blatent plug here, but... my Evo VI TME's up for sale at the moment if you're interested!

Don't bother with a WRX... other than the dodgy image problems, they aren't that quick 'out of the box' you need decat(s) and remap to make them quick, and that can cost in excess of £1000 (PPP is about £1500) !! Plus the interiors are shocking !!

Get the Cupra R, its quicker, more subtle (maybe you should go for black or platinum) more kit and is of higher quality generally.
