I wouldn't bother with that one, the SS's that you want are the type that go right above the gearbox, not inside the car like that one.

I had one like that - one that goes inside the car to replace the existing shaft - for my old Celica and it worked a treat. But I don't know how the Leon compares in terms of the way shifting works.

I had a HPA short shifter fitted about 1 month ago and it works really well.
Defo recomend the HPA one, and easy to fit too!

Sweet. From stock to 40% decrease sounds like it should be easy to find a setting that suits. I'd be changing it all the time though...

Hi i bin lookin to buy one of them short shifters and came across this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-BORA-...ryZ36679QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem , what do you guys recon is it worth buyining ? I think im gonna go for it but just thought id ask if anyones tried it and been happy with it, thanks.

That looks alot like the B&M Shifter I fitted to my cupra. It was a bit of a pain to fit as you have to drop the centre of the exhaust and remove the heat shields to get it in, aswell as working inside the car.

I love it though as you get a machined gear knob with the B&M kit which has a quality feel, and it changes the motion to select reverse..instead of pushing the whole lever down you lift up the metal collar below the gear knob.

The B&M Shifter cost me about £100, so that one looks like a bit of a steal..Thats if the quality is okay ?

Thanks for the advice I thought it fitted ontop of the gearbox sounds a bit more complicated I seen a neuspeed one which goes ontop of the gearbox and is around 100 quid so maybe take a look at that, is there any cheaper ones outhere that fit ontop of the gearbox ??

EIP short shifter on my LCR has been faultless since the day i fitted it. As discussed above - Westec is the place to go for one.

you might have to wait a while for one though, from what i've read on here previously EIP are a bit slow when it comes to sending parts to the UK. i went for the forge shifter as they are only just over £75 and i got mine two days after ordering it.

Love my EIP,but it took FOREVER to arrive from EIP through Westec.

If I got one again I'd get the HPA as its cheap, locally in stock and adjustable
