Hi, I gave my mk3 ibiza cupra a good wash and polish this weekend but later on i found when you look at it in the sunlight there appears to be really shiney swirls i red these are hologram? what products and technique can i use to get rid of them they arent really bad but very annoying to me [:@] also how can i avoid this in the future.?

They are very difficult to remove by hand. You really need them removed with an electric polisher by a professional detailer. If you have a look for some of 'Finer details' posts in this section you will see some examples of de-swirling.

As far as minimising them in the future have a search for the best washing methods. I believe there is a sticky in this section.

Another method is to hide them with a glaze, these are oily products that add wetness to the finish, but also work quite well at covering slight swirls and holograms.
They do need to be topped with a sealant or wax though as they have zero durability.

Holograms can be removed as they are very fine scratches, swirls tend to take a tad more.

Both replies above hit the nail on the head in the very deep pool of answers.

Using fillers will mask, the prob, but the first good wash is likely to remove any, and a glaze will reduce the durability of any sealant.

Its best to correct, improve your technique and enjoy your shiny mota ;)

ive been told that they may not be holograms because i only polished by hand?

But if they are holograms is there a hand product i could use?

Cheers mate ill give that a bash. could you point me in the right direction to get me started good products applicators etc.. Or would the meg gift bucket be a good start?
