Nice motor Tone, looks like we both had the same issue but solved it two completely different ways!

My opinion is not to go too dark on the wheels if you're keeping it standard (Or get steelies/second hand alloys for the same money you would spend furbing those) too many people are going anthracite these days and it will look modified (which without being low is a crime). I say leave them as they are and get saving for that air ride ;)

And yes, that was aimed at you Daz. That's what i said, a crime.

 Cheeky git

I didnt have much time today, but I thought I would see how the polished boot protector would come out...

this was just with ten minutes work. I am sure with the help of DK this could come out really nice ;)

not bad, but plenty of scratches left, so a long way to go...

One boot strut done

This is the next point to sort out. The rear bumper has got a plastic protecting film on it, which is all peeling off and looks really skanky! I will be getting this off and restoring the rear bumper to its rightful form (and for Maz when he machine polishes it)

Thasts all for now ;)

some more tidying up and cleaning over the weekend

If anyone needs to remove dirt and stains from a cloth interior, then get yourself or rent a vax, which is a proper shampoo hoover, and boy does it work great! Rear seats have come up like new and so has the front seats. Water sucking back from the seats was black! Thanks to the other half AKA Rudgemeister who carried out the shampoo cleaning :)

Much tidier
IMG_2092.jpg

rear has now been debadged and the bumper has had the degrading plastic film removed

I think the back looks much better now, and cleaner lines

Pressed plates and surrounds arrived today, so I cant wait to get those on

Went to do the HID's yesterday. Who ever designed the Passat lights should be shot. Took me 20 mins to get the side light out as its impossible to grab at. Evenutally got the LED replacement fitted, but for the drivers side, you have to take off the air intake to get to the lights properly

oh well, it will be worth it. Missus is away on Sunday, so can get her washed, clayed and polished :D

More pics to follow....

How much is that stuff?

its going to Maz soon for a polish, to correct the boot and the scratch down the doors.

will prob be a stg1 or 2. See what he says about the condition of the paint

EDIT: Gave the bay a quick clean as wel. I might remove the bonnet padding as well, and give it some room for some stickers ;)

It's easy mate, leave it on for a couple of minutes and it come straight off, leave it to cure for 24 hours then add the Red Mist

Wash and Wax it Saturday, then Sunday wash it and add the Red Mist.
You can then top up the shine with more Red Mist every other week or so.
Maz has shown me a what the Red Mist does to fresh wax, basically it breaks it down.
