Can anyone recommend a good place to get my ibiza cupra serviced in the leicester area?

I've been using The Lion Garage who specialise in VAG but i'm not impressed with them as they fitted some rear discs and pads to my car and they squeal/grind when reversing but they cannot find anything wrong.

Thanks

Chris

From the south so cant help, but my rear does the same on reversing. Everone complains, but how i see it, if ralley cars can have squeeky breaks, than its good enough for me!!

I know this wasn't your original point (but again i'm from the south so can't help re: servicing)..

You can probably sort the grind noise yourself - just do a search on here for a complete guide to taking the pads out, but you don't even need that. just take wheel off and unbolt the top which holds them in, it's probably just the aluminium metal shims that are completely rusted over with baked on brake dust - clean them right up. Apply some copper-grease and you're away. Just make sure the pad can move freely towards/away from the face of the disc and doesn't stick at any point.

not guaranteed to be the solution, but it's worth a quick check.

Thanks for the response, i'l probably give Midland VW a ring in the next couple of weeks.

If you read my other post i had a problem which most seem to have had where my clutch pedal snapped. This garage told me that my master cylinder had gone, and this was also the problem for my brakes grinding as the cylinder powers both, i didnt really believe them but i was willing to give them the benefit of doubt. But still my brakes grind so LOUD when i reverse occasionally.

Its so annoying, whenever i have passengers and have to reverse there like whoa whats wrong with your brakes??

I think the answer is to get new pads fitted when i get it serviced and tell them about the problem so they can check it all.

Have you any idea what they charge for a major service as it will be the 40k service? I think Seat charge around £200.00.

Yup.........

Major service including a new waterpump and cambelt and then all the usual inc plugs, filters, oil etc etc etc.......

comes in at £350 i think it is.....

That seat one is not a major service, its a basic one.

A Basic service at jodys will cost you about £150 ish something like that....

Hope that helps, best thing to do is give him a call to be honest....

Also, its always a good idea to get the cambelt and waterpump changed...ive just had mine done at 40k as its 4 years old :)

i'm glad it isnt £ 350 because this car is costing me alot of money. It plays on my mind its been that bad, sometimes i went back to my good old reliable saxo vtr...lol. It may be a chavs car but it was deffinately more fun to drive on thew lanes than the cupra.
