Car's coming up for it's 50k service and I'm thinking about taking it to an independent instead. A very good friend of mine owns his own garage and I know he'll take so much better care of the car than my local dealer, who've already caused me grief before. Up until now it has a full Seat history, obviously I'll get less when I sell the car on (maybe) but the savings now should offset that.

Any thoughts?

"you value your car so rather than entrust it to a faceless dealer you had it serviced by an independant specialist" Cant see that hurting resale!!! Mines never seen a Seat dealer since I bought it!!!

Yup, cannot see it making a huge difference to resale value, cos it's got seat stamped in the book as long as it's 'been' serviced in accordence with the service schedule.

And with the difference as much as £100-£150 between indi's and seat is it really worth the extra, just to say it has a FseatSH when you eventually flog it.
