Hi,

Sorry in advance if this question has been answered previously on this forum.

I have 2009 Seat Ibiza Sport 1.6 and have since the date of purchase in 2009 had the annual service done by Seat. However, this year I have decided on tackling this job myself. I have decided on changing the following items:

Oil
Oil filter
Spark plugs
Air filter
Pollen filter was replaced late 2014

Would anyone be able to suggest/recommend a suitable oil and spark plugs. I was contemplating changing the air filter for a K&N filter, is it worth the money, or should I just get a normal one?

Thanks in advance.

Cheapest place I found for oil was my local Seat dealer, who supplies Shell which suits me as I wouldn't bother changing unless I could get Shell or Millers.

Oil filter from the dealer.

Spark plugs again my dealer was cheaper.

Ait filter, I'd only buy from the dealer, a K & N would provide move BHP but so little I doubt you'd notice.

Pollen filter, while I was at the dealer I'd just get that to to save messing around.

Of course all parts you could get from Eurocarparts and the like but for me may as well get OE parts as still saving money..

Personally I would change the pollen filter every service, it costs next to nothing and you never know what you pick up in the filter just driving arouns

Thanks for the advice G.P. unfortunately, I have never found my local Seat dealership to be cheap and instead prefer to purchase from EuroCarPart.
Also, rather than knowing where to buy from I was asking members what oil, spark plugs etc to use.
Britishsligean, thanks for that. I tend to change that myself annually.

Or:-

Oil = Castrol Edge never cheap or as said Shell something, or Mobil 1 ESP
Oil filter = VAG wherever you find it cheapest
Air Filter = Mann probably VAG wherever you find it cheapest
Spark Plugs = NGK wherever you find them cheapest
Pollen filter, best to get "with carbon" = maybe ECP or wherever you can find a VAG OEM cheapest, cheapest nasty one will end up being not worth getting, I'd reckon

So, all in all probably not a long way from where G.P suggested pricewise.
