Service timing

This feels like a daft question, I've searched and couldn't find anything.

It'll be 12 months since my last service at the end of February, at which point my car will have around 38000 miles on it. It'll take me a good 2-3 months to do another couple of thousand miles, so what do I do about the 40K service?

You can do it before that 40k mark, its mileage or time period, so if its been 12 months then its all good to do the service
