Started the car today, noticed the service spanner - told me I need one in 600 miles. No suprises there I was knew it was due a 10k.

Then the display flicked from miles to a clock symbol and displayed 444. After reading the manual this should be the number of days until it needs to be done?

Surely either me, the book or the car is wrong somewhere. What does it all mean?

ooh, car is a 1.9TDI Stylance without bluetooth.

Personally I would ignore the spanner, they don`t seem to be that accurate.Had one on a mercedes seemed to count the days upwards and downwards depending on how its driven. Just stick to the 10000 miles or 12 months, its a safer bet as far as warrenty issues/ book stamping etc. The spanner will be reset on the service anyhow.

Had mine come on early [9.4k] but I put that down to the ECU monitoring /driving style - it was different with our other one which came on at 9.9k??!!?
a mini One we had changed regually dependant on way we drove - so I have put it down to the ECU's brain?!!..
