excuse the dull question, but is there a service indicator on my altea 1.9 stylance? what i mean is will it tell me when it needs a service(like my TT)

Its last sevice was november 2006 at 18000 miles it is now on 24000??

There's a thread on here somewhere about it. I think the intervals on the computer are tighter than 10K - certainly my car whinges around 9K which is closer to 15,000 kilometres.....

hmmm seems a question for our German friend. The service intervals are computed by the trip distance or calender date. So you don't have the trip distance or the correct calender date I reckon.

I did read in Honest John that some imported cars are set up for different service intervals than UK ones. It would seem that the garage reckons that you need it serviced at 6,000 miles or the tolerance on the time period has come up, but that won't be more than a month I reckon. November is more than a month.
