Does anyone have the official breakdown of what comprises of a major & minor service ? :)

I spoke to a Seat dealer today & he was seriously sketchy on facts ........ Other than it will cost between £160 & £250 for them to get their grubby mitts on it .......

Anyways mine needs a 10K service (Think its done about 12K :( ) anyways what bits are scheduled for changing ?

I deal with main dealers quite frequently & I find the ones that have the "FBI" style "If I told you I'd have to kill you" attitude are usually ........... Lets just say Poor :funk:

10k on any of the engines will be oil and filter change, pollen filter and a quick butchers round the car.

Is your warranty still intact having gone that far over the service interval?

Depending on the age of the car you could need either an 'oil change service' or an inspection service -

Oil service - just oil and filter change - every 10k or 1 year

Inspection service - as above plus butchers round car - every 20k or 1 year

So, if you're a high miler - like I was (21k in 11 months!), then you'll only need a il change, if the car's a year old - inspection.

Hope that helps!

Engine ......... Hmmm err Its a 1400 Sport I think ........ Well its deffinately a sport ........ pretty sure its 1400 ............ As its marketed as a sport its a poor attempt :(

As far as the warranty goes ....... Umm I only keep em fer 2 years anyways ..... So I'm none too stressed :D

Oh the lil spanner & "Insp" has just lit up ........... Gonna have to kill that somehow ;)

I'm just up tfor the 20k service on my 1.4. SEAT in Cheshunt quoted £315 ish as it also includes a sheduled brake fluid change (does this sound right??). I managed to get them to agree to do it for £270. Still pricey though.

I beleive that the aircon may need a service at this interval too, but not sure on that . I don't think the above price includes that.

A brake fluid change is recommended every two years - so if you're on average mileage then that's about right. Generally aircon service is not included in dealer services as far as I know

TBH I've only driven it twice! I've also just bought a shed of an Escort for £375 to keep me going until we move house and only need one car. Until then my fiancée's driving the Leon.

There were two Leon's I was looking at - ours and one in Eclipse Blue. Must admit I prefered the Eclipse, but this one was in much better nick. It is growing on me though - still think I'd have a red one given the choice mind!

It is a grower, sometimes I look at it and think "damn it's bright" but then I've seen other cars that are actuall brighter blue. this one is just very very BLUE!!! I didn't really have a choice on the colour when I bought mine. But I'm pleased with it now. The only thing is that being a block colour (not metallic) it shows up all the tiny scratches and blemishes when you look close. I guess any block colour does this too.

Anyhow. enjoy it when you do get to drive!;)
