Service / Inspection light reset on Mk1 Toledo TDi?

One of the lads at work has a Mk1 Toledo TDi. I asked him why he had a bit of black electrical tape over one of the LED's on his dash...

He said "I think it's the glow plug light, it's been flashing for ages... changed all the glow plugs but it's still "winking" at me... got annoying so I taped over it"

Anyway, his son thinks it may be a service or inspection light, as the same one started flashing on his Mk1 Toledo at around 90k miles.

Thing is, neither of them have a handbook so don't know how to reset it - if indeed that's what it is??

I've done a search, but can only find reference to resets on the Mk2 Toledo...

Can anyone help??

have you tried the reset which youve found for the mk2's, might be the same?

or as its leon with a boot have a search in the leon section.

It's a Mk1 Toledo, the Mk2 is a Leon with a boot
