Bored at work, so thought i'd do some searching for info on short shifters for mk4 beeza.
Stumbled across a SCN members who's signature included a link to www.ibiza.gr/forum. Using google, translated what could be into English.
Searched short shift and came across a thread about a Sequential Shifter
The thread refers to a Sequential Shifter supplied by SQSRacing. Their Standard SEQSHIFT kit lists several VAGs, fortunately including Ibiza '02-
This kit is said to change your normal H-shift pattern (Left+Up,Left+Down,Up,Down,Right+Up etc) into sequential pattern of Up, Down. Reverse is accessed by Up+Up. Throw reduced by 25%.
It is not a sequential gearbox, just a shifter, so clutch is still required, but it still sounds good to me!
You replace your current gear selection mechanism in the centre console and slot in the new kit. Also get a single starbust display that shows current gear number (r-reverse, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-if you have it) rally/f1 style!!!
Adjustments are made to the bowden cables but nothing seems too far fetched really!
Heres a link to the product catalogue for 2007. Page 2 is the street option. Price shown is 1000EU which currently is about £800. Expensive, but interesting none the less.
Good find?
