Morning all, sorry to ask, I have had a search but just wanted to know there is a small black sensor that plugs in just before the throttle body with a torx bolt. What does it do and could it mess up the throttle bodies ability function. STILL trying to stop my fault codes for lambda popping up and having cleaned this before, they departed for a couple of weeks now they have come back. Just thinking this may be a factor. Cheers guys

I think, thinking is not always good this early but its a temp sensor in the inlet manifold so might be well off the mark

nope, but changed lambda 3 times and still get fault codes pop up everytime I drive it after a few minutes. Unless I leave enguine to warm up for a while and settle to idle before setting off.

16519 is one off the top of my head

pre, all done properly last 2 times by Total VAG maybe its wiring leading to it pre the plug. But doesnt seem to be a common thing from what I have searched on here.

The warm up thing is what confuses me, if I leave it to drop to idle which takes ages and then drive it, its ok. However if I stop and then get back in a bit later start the engiine and it is showing correct idle/temp and drive straight off without waiting a few minutes it does it again. Its almost like I have to wait for something to sort itself out every time I fire her up. Weird, hence this post just trying to think of things I havent changed yet.

Check your fuses, it might be that the heating element in the probe isn't working.

Can't have been done right if the place fitting it has had to do it twice....

I thought maybe the probe was broke so got a new one and asked them to do it, but still the same. I will do as you say and check fuse, any idea which one it might be (laaaaaaaazy). Thanks for your help on this

Usually lambda fault codes are diagnosed incorrectly as its one of the only sensors that knows the fueling of the car. So usualy a fueling problem will illuminate the EML and throw up a labda fault code. After all lambda means fuel/air. So it could be somthing simple or somthing more serious. Unless the fault code is coming up with curcuit malfunction which indactes a problem with signal or power supply then its usualy a fueling issue.

thats interesting, thank you, any ideas on bits I could replace ? I have changed the coolant temp sensor, maf , had coolant flush, cleaned sensor to inlet manifold, cleaned all connections etc.
