Sensibly priced disks and pads for LC?

Did a service at the weekend and checked the brakes... the disks are looking pretty worn so I want to replace the whole lot once the pads are dead (not long)... now my LC does around 18k miles PA so I dont want to go mad with expensive brakes as it spends most of its time on the motorway...

So can anyone recommend a fast road option that doesnt break the bank? :)

Worth noting Ive never found the brakes lacking at all on this car... and thats coming from a 1200kg car with uprated disks, 4pot calipers and Ferrodo DS2500's on it that I used to track with... :D

standard discs are good enough for road use, just uprate the pads, ds2500 will come up a million times.

black diamond predator are also good pads for road use, only £40 aswell.

cheaper than the oem jjurids.

stay away from anything ebc.

pagid fast road are good but hard to get hold of
mintex 1144 also a good pad.

Recommended these in your other thread but here are the links:

£21.53 for the rears: http://www.jabbasport.com/store/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=MDB1377

£63.62 for the fronts: http://www.jabbasport.com/store/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=2604

Stick with the standard discs, they are actually very good quality. You may find the above pads cheaper elsewhere, just wanted to point them out to you as I have them fitted and I couldn't believe the difference between these and the OEM pads on my last Leon, they are first class.

mintex extreme are quite a harsh pad and dusty.. the 1144s are more suited to the road imo.

them mintex rears are a good pad and cheap.

dusty if used hard. fast road use go for the ds2500 and normal road the mintex.

the mintex may kill your standard discs quickly if used hard.

or you could go the whole hog and buy a porsche setup instead

DS2500 are too pricey imho ... they were about £120 the set on my old car so expect the same on the Leon?

I wouldnt put EBC pads on a push bike...

Good info lads... cheers

Anyone tried the TAROX stuff from Awesome? - seem to be reasonably priced?

Would people agree to spend the money on the front pads as the rear doesnt do an awful lot with OE disks?
