Second Car advice

Guys i need your help! I'm looking for a second car with a budget of 5K and a deadline of 3 weeks (move into my house and wont be able to get to work otherwise!)

As a previous owner of a Ibiza Cupra TDi i know a Seat are pretty good value for money, but only doing about 300 miles a month I don't need another diesel. I've been looking for a Leon Cupra (facelift) but the best examples are way out of budget. I'm (perhaps overly) cautious of Private sales but after weeks of searching auto trader and putting it off, i need to get something bought!

Is 5K enough to get me something reliable or do i need to think of a different car? Or just set my standards a bit lower? I'm open to suggestions... :help:

Is there anything in the cars for sale section on here?

Ebay?....although I'd go to look at it before buying so you don't buy a lemon.

Private is good...and cheaper......but maybe worth getting a full report if your spending 5k

Not all private sales are fraught with danger, just take your time and check everything you need too, there are bargains out there and i also wouldn't instantly dismiss a higher milage example as if its backed up with a comprehensive service history it's proof that its been looked after.

Are you sure you're looking at cupra's and not cupra R's? You should have no probs with a cupra for that money. I got my pre-facelift (ok I know you want facelift) back in summer for 3k and just over 70k miles....

Bare in mind that they are reliable well into the 100's of thousands of miles so don't be put off by higher mileage cars!
