seatsport gear knob leather colour match to LCR?

So went to my local dealer to order an airmetal/aluminium gear knob, but they're not available from Seat any more. The alternative option is the airmetal/leather bottom gearknob, but the leather looks very light in the stock photos. Anyone have a piccy of it fitted in their LCR? It's the one in Pab's guide, but it wasn't an LCR he fitted it to (and so interior colours are different).

Only place I can find the airmetal/aluminium gearknob is from sgpetch but (with postage) it's even more than the one above from Seat...

They do come up on ebay once in a while, not as regularly as a few years ago mind. I got the alu and leather six speed for about £40 new Paid about £90 for the MK2 updated version

Thanks Ricky. What did you cable tie it to? Some part of the gear knob, or just directly onto the gear stick? do you happen to have any photos?

Thanks Allan. I didn't realise there was a different mk2 version compared with mk1. All the ones I've seen are listed against the mk2 only...cheers for the website.

Ricky - thanks for the link - it looks good! So did you leave the plastic connector at the top of the gaiter on, and tie that to the shaft? Or is it an aftermarket gaiter with no plastic bit at the top? Do you ever find it slides down? And does the gearknob ever swivel? I've had aftermarket gearknobs on my previous car and after a while the screw works through the rubber spacer and they just start to spin...

Lee, I did give it some serious consideration when I saw it on eBay, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. Thanks though!

Yes is the standard gator And the knob is held by 3allen bolts an has never came loose an its been on fir nearly 3 years

Ricky that's awesome, thanks! Was your gear knob one suggested for VW group cars, or just completely universal? Did you have to fit a rubber spacer, or just screw directly onto the gearstick?

Its just a universal one and it came with 3 different sized plastic sleeves
