Seat Mk1 sat Nav unit

Hi Guys

Im hoping this area of the forum can help... as im getting really stuck.

I have a mk1 leon with the sat nav unit in it, i want to connect my ipod to it. I have searched but am having trouble finding out what i need.

Id prefer to get rid of the sat nav unit and put a facia adapter in to take it down to a single din with a cubby hole as i have found a nice alipine unit which works great with my pod. However i dont think such a facia adapter exists???? will a mk4 golf work???

Or... can i get a lead form somewhere which gets rid of the changer and allows me to control the ipod through the head unit. Dension seem to only offer the one which hooks up to radio

Like i say i have searched and read alot of posts but none of them really spell it out.

I think dension do a proper kit for it.

You want to be searching for VW MCD as its the same unit (unless its colour, then its MFD)

HI mate if you do get another head unit i mayeb be interested in the old nav unit from your car .
m me if you want to sell it , or need a hand with the i-pod kit as i have a factory vw one in my leon

I guess i have the MFD version then as it is in colour.....

So dension do offer a kit then? anyone know what i need... ive seen kits that fit into the cd changer port but is this the case with the Sat Nav units?

Regarding changing it to Single din... how complicated is this??? Do i need to dismantle my dash?

I may be interested in selling once i find out what options are available - cheers for the PM's ill keep you guys posted.

Changing the console is quite easy just a matter of finding the screws took me about 30 mins.
