Can enyone help me

I was driving up the motorway put my foot down doing around 80 mph then all of a sudden the turbo completly stops working i contiue driving for one mile until it is safe to pull over where i then switch the car off and on and the turbo works fine again this has never happened before do you think it is a blip in the computer (ecu) or could it be that the turbo is on it's way out also the other morning i started the car and there was a red flashing light by the temperature guage is this a cold start as it was very cold that morning or is it linked

my friend said it could be a build up of carbon in the turbo veins as he had this problem with his vw golf but his problem was not a one off it was happing all the time so don;t think it is that as it has only happened once can eny one help thanks

Can anyone help me?

I was driving up the motorway and put my foot down doing around ** mph, then all of a sudden the turbo completely stops working. I continue driving for one mile until it is safe to pull over where I then switch the car off and on, and the turbo works fine again. This has never happened before. Do you think it is a blip in the computer (ecu) or could it be that the turbo is on it's way out?

Also the other morning I started the car and there was a red flashing light by the temperature gauge. Is this a cold start as it was very cold that morning or is it linked?

My friend said it could be a build up of carbon in the turbo vanes as he had this problem with his VW Golf, but his problem was not a one off it was happing all the time, so don't think it is that as it has only happened once. Can any one help?

Thanks.

You really need to have the car scanned for fault codes to see why it went into limp mode. Until then, anything is just a guess.

Sound like an electrical boost fault. Im suprised VAG-COM hasn't logged any faults :s

Has it done it since?

no it is working fine i also have accelerated it hard to see if it would do it again i will go to a seat specialist to scan it maybe that the local garage equipment was was not correct thanks 4 your help

Check that there is nothing obstructing your MAK from the airbox. Mine went into limp mode when a piece of lacquer from my old Carbonio went up the pipe and stuck on the MAF.

It could also be the variable veins in the turbo sticking causing an overboost = limp mode. Are you getting any extra smoke?

Also, check your N75 valve (I think its the N75 - I may be wrong thoug lol, Im sure I will be corrected)
