Hello All, i am new to this thread and this is my first post. I have been the proud owner of a Seat Leon ST FR 1.8 TSI 2014 until last night......

I was driving my car home late and night and as i entered a round about junction, i dropped down to second on approach and the next thing i know, i have hit the pedestrian road island and flipped my car on its side:(:(:(:(:(:(

I was not speeding, the roads were clean and i was driving sensibly. On reflection of the crash, i have little memory of the incident but i suspect the airbags went off in the car prior to the collision causing the crash itself. I have done some digging online and cannot find much information about defective airbags on the Leon MK3.

Does anyone if there is an issue with airbags going off on the Mk3 models?

Many thanks,

Dan

If there was a general problem with the airbags, then I suspect there would have been a recall as this would surely be considered to be a safety-related issue.

Well on inspection of the car today, it seems as if the car has done a full 360 flip. Cracked the front wheel and body damage all over. Its amazing how a car can flip in the air, impact so hard it breaks the wheel and not a single airbag goes off..... I love seat right now

You don't have to be 'speeding' to be driving 'too fast' . There is also the question of approach angles, type of curb etc. If , as you say, you have a cracked wheel and rolled the car 360, you have clearly hit something with enough force to cause those occurences.
I would consider yourself lucky to escape uninjured, and perhaps consider getting yourself checked for any of the issues mentioned by others.
Did plod attend, if so, what did they say?

I think I've found the location of the incident, that island looks a bit of a nightmare..
