Hello there!

I've been thinking about buying a Seat Leon FR from 2014-2016, but I am kinda confused about how the full link works and which year of the cars it is actually available in, I heard some say if there isnt a USB port in the middle console, you cant get full link and some people say you just need the Mediasystem Plus system in a 2014-2015 version and you can get full link, can anybody confirm or deny this?

I dont wanna buy a car without carplay in it haha.

Thanks for help and advance! :D

As far as I know all the FR models will have full link option fitted but, unless a previous owner paid to have it enabled, it will tell you take it to a dealer and part with £200 to have it activated:

A mate of mines FR doesnt have it fitted and thats a 2014 model, but his is without the mediasystem + pack, - Cant find anyone with a 2014 or 2015 in that thread you're linking too.

But some people are saying that the full link option comes with the mediasystem pack, I tried calling Seat and the guy I spoke with didnt sound quite sure if the 2014/2015 with the mediasystem + had it.

Yeah, from what I've heard its only the very late 2015 FR models and 2016+ that has the full link option - Do your car have the mediasystem + option?

I don’t think so. I’d love to upgrade it to the new system but the feeds on it are so confusing and conflicting.

The mediasystem + looks like this the screen is 8 inches instead of 6 I believe, from what I know the 6 inch screens doesnt support full link even in 2016+ models

Full link was an option from around mid 2015 cars, it could be ordered with the car or it could have the option on the media system to have it enabled by a dealer at a cost of around £160. If the option is not shown on the media system then it cannot be enabled.
I think face-lift cars have it as standard on certain specs, not on base models.

Okay, I know that you need to pay to get it activated, but does it come with the mediasystem plus option? or is it only available in cars which has the USB in the center control? I've added a picture of what I mean.

If it does not have the USB in centre console then I am sure it is not available. If it does have the USB it may be available but you would need to check the actual vehicle to see if Full Link is activated or if there is a message displayed on the screen when selecting Full Link that says it can be activated by dealer with an Activation code.

The FR is a well specced car and I would bet that most of them will have Full Link either as standard or as an option. It shouldn't be hard to find a car with it fitted.
