Hey,

Well seeing as I am new here I am going to put a few pictures of my seat up for you all to see it in its current naked state (all stock except HU), recently purchased for just over £9k with full service history, its an 05 plate with 27k on the clock, managed to get insurance for £750 a year fully comp + rac cover hopefully wont need that though! not bad for a 22 year old.

I have a lot of plans for this car, these include

1. Install ITX computer into glove compartment
2. Install flip up 'view in any light' touchscreen where HU is
3. Add WiFi booster antennas (one in boot, one under bonnet)
4. Change indicators to silver bulbs
5. Upgrade to HID
6. Install my current sound system (2x sFX 12" 1500w subs, 2x Infinity Kappas)
7. Install sat nav gps device (for itx computer)
8. Install TFT's into headrests
9. Install mini 4" TFT onto a 'pod' for sat nav
10. Install 2 Pods for turbo pressure and oil temp

Anywhere heres the pictures ...

Hopefully I will get loads of pictures as I progress with the car but Ive got a baby on the way soon and money is a bit tight but fingers crossed I can find money to complete all my tasks above as quickly as possible.

Cheers

Hey,

I have big plans for the ITX system in the Leon and it will probably be my biggest feature of the car, probably the one Im spending most money on. Im looking at a 1.3ghz dual core ITX system, 1gb DDR2 memory and a 500gb laptop drive built into the section inside the glove compartment. This will be connected to a flip up touchscreen (one of the new 'view in any light' screens, the same screen make as the new tomtom units use), 2 headrest mounted tft units for DVD playback and a third micro screen on the pillar designed purely for sat nav and 'overview' stats such as current track or current radio station for example.

In terms of the other mods these will be done on an as and when basis if I find I have spare cash or some time to carry them out, but we will see how it all goes especially with a baby on the way, my first mod will most likely be an ISO Fit baby seat lol!

Thanks
Mike

Hey

There will actually be a triple screen setup, the screens are as follows

Flip Up Touchscreen
This will act as the 'control center' for the ITX system giving full control to the user including music, films, internet, games, satnav, pictures, camera, sensors etc.

Twin TFT Screens
Mounted into the headrests these units will act as a 'secondary' screen allowing people in the back to watch dvd's, play games or view any other aspect of the system that the person incharge of the main screen wishes them to see.

Mini 4" or less pillar mount screen
This is attached via a USB device to allow a third screen which can display micro resolutions (320x240) perfect for pushing satnav data onto or a eye level display of music/video settings eg current track.

Thats the plan, as you can see its the biggest feature of the car and should be really nice once installed and working correctly. Plan is to also add parking sensors and 4 micro cameras that the system can communicate with. Also tempted to use a USB mixer to allow me control over all amps and settings via the computer system.

Obviously as and when I get the money I will post updates and information here

Thanks
Mike

Hey,

Ive started the initial planning for the ITX Mod so fingers crossed we can start to get a bit of progress atm, still really need to decide where I want to place the ITX unit, the rear of the car was an option but Ive decided against this due to long vga leads and vibration from subs is heavier at the back.

Im tempted to see if the ITX motherboard, PSU and HDD will fit inside the compartment inside the glove box, pretty sure it will, looking at making a plastic front for this area, putting 1 or 2 40mm server fans on this plastic and then mounting the ITX connectors on the front thus meaning no cutting or modifing the plastic inside.

Its a tricky one really as I want to make sure any changes that I do will be easily reversable for when i want to sell the car.

Cheers
Mike
