Seat leon antenna removal

hi newbie here

just got a seat leon 2003 reg and the radio reception is poor on it , i have replaced the radio with a kenwood unit but it hasn't made any diffrence.

i have tryed removing the antenna but it wont remove from the housing (just flips down)

can the antenna be removed if so how ??

thanks for your help

I believe you need to put in an aerial amplifyer when using aftermarket headunits but in answer to your question, can the aerial be removed? I think the answer is yes with a lot of brute force. I'm sure a search will confirm that though :)

Hi there I had the same problem with my headunit, the standard one and aftermarket unit. The garage who fitted in the unit for me told me that the VW cars have poor reception and that a signal booster is needed to get better reception. It costs bout £10 I think but he put minie in for free cos I knew the guy lol.

The reception is much better now and I can pick up LW and MW radio stations which I could not do before.
