seat leon 1.4 cutting out

hi i have a leon 1.4 on a w plate. my engine seems to cut out a few times a week, whether im doing 30 mph or 80. the rev counter goes down to zero and there is total loss of power. this only lasts for about 1 to 2 seconds then goes back to normal. any ideas of what is causing this would be great thanks

tyr getting it scanned with vag com. sounds like a temp switch!!

i had this with my 1.6 ....switched to super unleaded and worked fine since....might just be luck tho haha
