Seat Ibiza 2001 Engine compatibility

Hi All,

Can anybody advise as to where I maybe able to find a list of compatible engines for a 2001 Ibiza, need to replace the engine its a 1.0L MPI and just wondering what options I have?

Any help you can give me on this would be greatly appreciatted?

Erm all the engines that normaly come in an ibiza mk3??
1.0
1.4
1.6
Tdi(can't remember wat litre)
1.8t
Vr6 maybe?

They came in 1.0L? I always thought 1.4 was the smallest.

I think the Tdi is a 1.9.

I was saw a 1.0 at a scrappy. They do exist.

The TDI was a 1.9 and came in a 90hp and 110hp version I think

And I'm pretty sure there was also a 1.9 SDI

Best option you have is to get a higher spec model.

yep you can get the sdi (diesel non turbo) and tdi (turbo)

With the cover it looks pretty much identical to the 1.4

Its quite as simple as just replace the engine...theres a bit more to it than that...

ive just been thru this on this forum when my 1.4 ibiza died, ive got a new 1.4 replacement engine for it now wich is being fitted wednesday , realised in the end its just not worth trying to fit a bigger engine
