Anyone on here had to replace the back box and got a rough idea of costs, its has the twin chrome std outlets as the FR so don't think its going to be cheap, all the factor ones I find have a normal outlet - looks terrible, and yet to get a price from Seat as cannot get through to many dealers at the moment

I suppose fitting an aftermarket stainless steel one is not an option as it would mean talking to your insurance company about having fitted a "modified" exhaust part?

Yes and its mainly used and insured by my 18 year old son so don't really want to go that route.. they will def up the policy.
Just wondered if anyone had replaced and the costs if not will keep trying cannot find any parts online so looks like I will keep trying the dealer

Have you checked with the insurance? Mine was a no cost upgrade with Axa. Think most replace to go stainless, there are second hand ones knocking about but you’ll need to modify it to fit as they are one piece from the cat back.

Thanks, I just assumed they hit him hard as he 18 and on a blackbox recorder, definitely worth a phone call though never though of trying it... We are keeping it for my next son to learn in too so might be worth the investment of stainless in the long term

Suppose the conversation will be replacement not performance replacement :)

Had it checked out and just the outer skin, this is quite normal and they built (even on Seats) to last a little longer than this.
Bloke in the parts said he did not want to take the £390 for the genuine replacement rear box (supply not fit) for a 1.2 TSI Ibiza (FR) as it does not need it laughing about it

So if anyone needs to know that is the price, so I think the stainless option would be a good one as I would expect to nearly get a system for that (cat back)
