SEAT 'Goodwill'

I'm going to have a new cat put on my car today.

Someone has suggested that I ask the garage to submit a goodwill request as the car is only 4 years old and has done only 25k miles.

Does anyone know what is involved with this process, how likley is it that I will be successful?

Lastly does anybody know the telephone number for this department / I've tried the 0500 but I get no joy.

Thanks.

But your car is out of its 3 year warranty period at 4 years

It doesnt matter how many miles you've done, its 4 years old!

I cant see it myself, why would they offer you a goodwill gesture? Businesses dont work like that.

But hey its worth a go, and if you do get it you'll send a huge flood of people to SEAT that are out of their warranty period to ask for the same goodwill gesture:D

I cant see it though:rolleyes:

I would persue it, the guarantee is in addition to your standard consumer rights, and Seat have to supply a product worthy of its use. You could reasonably argue that a cat should last longer than 4yrs and 25000 miles (Nearly all do, so they cant really come back at you), and that it should be replaced. Threaten them with trading standards if they dont budge - usually works for me!
