Seat Front Wiper Motor Problem

i am new to this forum as I am a Golf owner, but my Girlfriend owns a Seat Ibiza S Reg and the other week the Front Wpers stopped working. The AA guy who came out to look at it, said it needs a new motor.

Was just wondering if anyone knew how easy these were to replace and if had any instructions or Pics on how to do this.

And also if anyone knew what sort of price for a new one or even re-conditioned one and where best to get them from

look on ebay for the wiper motors, or if there's a scrappers near you, just salvage one.

Its super simple to do, theres 4 plugs on the bottom of the windscreen holding the black trim on, (with the positive screw heads on) by the way, theyre not threaded, get a screwdriver under them and lift, gently!
Then the leaf tray just pulls out, (the crappy really thin plastic bit that catches leaves falling into the engine bay)

3 (or maybe 4) bolts holding the wiper motors/arm mechanism in, 10mm spanner/ socket set if i remember rightly, clip in plug at the back for the electrics.

30 min job max if you have the tools and new wipers.

It seems easy enough to take off by the sounds of it, might try taking it off to see where everything is, while waiting for new motor to come.

Do you know any part codes(if there are any) for it or anything, as is my girlfriends car, so i dont have a clue of them

unfortunately i dont, as i have never replaced them, but like i said i had them out last week. its easy enough to do if your handy with a spanner/ screwdriver etc. good luck, let me know how you get on.

take the mortor out and dry it/wd40 the internals - they are expensive adn it might just have water on the motor - easy job, worked for me last week.

No worries mate, where abouts are you based?? And are you going to GTI International as your a golf owner. Could sort out dropping it up to you at the show if its easier for you if you were interested. Hate posting things so if you want it you could collect there if your going!

Im not going to Golf show mate, only have a 1.4 tracter, not a GTi owner yet lol

well, I presume just the motor, looking on ebay, it comes with the fitting on it, what different parts are there

Sorry to mess you about, but looks like i wont need it, took everything off today and found the motor was turning, but the bolt was loose, tightened the bolt and sprayed some WD40 and hey presto, they are working fine now
