He needs to make sure he gets the security code and will require a retro fit wiring loom and GPS antenna both which can be purchased from somewhere like satnavsystems.

Why not just buy a Tom-Tom One for around £220? It's colour, and can be carried from car to car. It's a no-brainer IMHO.
Horses for courses. TomTom is good for the reasons you state but, the only reason I have the factory fit one is because it came with the car it's certainly not worth £1500 but is worth £250 if it came with all the bits. I dont need a colour screen, just clear directions. If my car didn't have it in when I bought it I would probably get a Sat Nav head unit for a more OEM feel.dmjw01 said:

what wiring do i need to do this, and yes if you have'nt twigged this is the one i ended up buying. There is an extra socket on the SAT NAV unit with 2 wires in it, one labelled REV and the other as KL15.
So is it best to speak to sanavsystems re this???
