Hello guys!

I am a new Seat Altea XL user. Just bought it few days ago. I have Seat Altea XL year 2009, 1.9TDI. I am looking forward to stylish my new car :) I hope that we can help each other in a best possible way.

So as a new user of this car of course I have a tons of questions. But the few of the questions are the most important so try to help me if you know what to do...

1. I have a central lock system as we all have on Seat cars, so I have a standard remote that has 3 buttons( open, opening of the 5th door, close)

So my friend has Seat Leon year 2011. and he said that when he presses the button to open the car only the drivers door are opened and when he presses is once more then all doors are opened. In my case when I press once to open the door all of the doors are opened at the same time.

Question: How to "program" my remote so I can have the same thing

2. I want to change to radio. My present radio looks like this:

And I want to know if it is possible to change this radio with this one:
radio.PNG

If it is possible please provide me with some pictures or how to achieve this

3.I have this media-in interface so I can use USB to play the music :

I have put my mp3 songs on it at the root of the USB and when I put it in and press media on my radio it just says that there is no media. What am I doing wrong?

4. Do you know where can I order this 2 covers that are missing on my car, provide me with the serial number or with the link on the internet where I can order it:

, one more pic of the same thing:

and this one which is located in the middle of the console when you are sitting in the back and you want to use adapter:

That's it, I hope that some of you would find some time and help me.
Thank you all,
Denonth

hello and welcome

i can't help with all your queries but will try.

for the missing caps, make a post in http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=249 aimed at David from SERE motors, who i'm sure will assist the best he can to locate and price up the parts. if you are not in the UK, then try your local dealer.

as for your locking options, this can be changed with VCDS (a diagnostic tool). this is nothing to do with the remote hardware, but instead the coding of your central convenience module. if you have a full screen display instrument panel, you should be able to scroll through the menu and change it here too.

the headunit - yes you can install a stereo like this, ensure you buy one that comes with a CAN interface so it goes on/off with ignition, lets you use steering wheel controls etc. again, you'll need to contact David or a SEAT dealer with your VIN to order a colour matched fascia (as the new stereo is smaller than what you have in now).

Hi,
First of all thank's for the answers.

I think that this radio has a CAN interface. I am not allowed to put link to another site because system allows me after 10 or more posts. So I will try to put you link as a normal text and you can check it out:

.alibaba.com/product-gs/658837151/7_2DIn_Touch_screen_Car_Audio.html

You know dealer over here at my place are charging so much for such a small things like cap and so on...so I will try to contact the guy that you have mentioned.

For that diagnostic tool...I was thinking something like put the key in the ignition lock, turn it once and then press some combination so probably this won't work :)

I'll try to find someone that is doing this kind of job.

So for the radio you really think that it is possible? Should I do it alone or you suggest some people that are doing such things? I am good with electronics but I don't like messing around my new car :) its new! :) I mean new to me :D

the radio will definitely be possible. although i have a 2007 altea, this is what a zenec headunit looks like in it with the genuine colour matched fascia...

for this particular stereo, i only had to cut away some hidden plastic from the rear, as the SD card housing was touching the dash framework.
some other HU's also need a little piece cut away depending on the location of the SD card, but it is hidden and nobody would ever tell.
otherwise, electrically it is plug and play.

in regards to the remote coding, it is literally a 2 minute job with VCDS but it is finding someone with the tool.
check www.ross-tech.com for more information - probably the best purchase i ever made for my car.

Where have you bought this stereo? Can you give me the link? I was thinking to buy something with DVD, TV, navigation system, back camera integration, portable video to other units...

this is a zenec mc-2000 i bought in 2008 for my golf, but then put into my wife's altea.

i replaced it with the zenec nc2010 which is a much better HU than this. it does all the things you want but they are not the same price as chinese imports, if this is a factor.

Just a note, I have put my Zenec NC2010 unit in the Altea and replaced the MC2000, so the picture above is the NC2010 (can't edit posts).
As you may see, the track/station/nav/caller info appears on the MFD.

This stereo does not need part of the dash cut away as the SD slot is central, the MC2000 needs a tad chopped behind it...just for info!
