Hey chaps!

I currently own a seat ibiza '09 car.

After a slightly more roomy car as a second one.

I've fallen in love with the FSI 2.0 version. It's an '05 plate. Pretty good body work, minor marks as you'd expect....

Inside the car is MINTcondition however ..... it's done 87,000 miles!!!

by the looks of it - this car was used on long journeys as the interior is in sound condition!

I really want this car - but the high mileage is really putting me off.

Is there anything I need to look for - or anything what is due to "go" around this mileage?

Or should I not touch this atall?!

(I know cars have moved on alot since 'back in the day' so high mileage isn't always a bad thing?)

Hi mate,

Just seen your post over on MSE ;)

Must admit, I didn't see this post on here previously..... I'm slacking! ;)

As I said on MSE, 87k isn't a huge amount of miles to be honest, especially if they're mainly motorway miles, and it's got a full service history.

I'd check that it's had a cambelt change recently, as they're due at 60k (or 4 years).

I used to own a Leon Cupra R, and although it was a better car in terms of power/handling etc, the Altea is far more comfortable for commuting and distance driving.

Loads of space in the boot etc to.

For parts, you want to speak to David @ Sere Motors (Seat Main Dealer in Belfast), see his section on the main forum page ;)

Cheers,
Andy

Cheers Andy.

Someone needs to get the whip out... slacking is a disgrace! lol. :p

What would you say is "high mileage" on a car like this + age?

Just wondering how long we got to enjoy it :)

I'll certainly be book marking (sere motors). Thanks!

No doubt I'll be aorund here everytime my pc is on now!

p.s - This is awesome :
