Scuffed alloy :(

Some old man in a mobility car driving around like a drunk (possibly because he was) drove into my car today. He didnt dent or damage the paintwork but, he has scratched on of my alloys. Does anyone know anywhere in East Sussex that can refurb it and what kind of cost will I be looking at. Am I better off buying a new one and using this one as a spare ?

have u a pic m8 i am quite sure halfords do a refurb alloys or buy one of them fast car mags and look in the back there are always adverts in there

The bloke came around this morning and apologised, he was in a hurry to get home as his wife who has altzheimers was wandering around the streets naked. Kind of answers why there was a naked old dear in the local shop yesterday. He said he will pay for it but, I felt guilty and told him not to worry.

About 3cm long and pretty deep Is it worth trying to repair myself, and does it look straight forward to get it refurbished ? I have emailed a few local places for a quote on a refurb.

If it comes to it will get another alloy and use this one as a spare. If this happens I will get the tyre swapped over as Im not paying £88 for a new Yokohama tyre when its not worn at all.

u could have a go ya self m8 but i think most places charge about £50-£80 pound a wheel.

Might be better off getting a new one by the sounds of things The place I got them from said they are able to buy 1 wheel. Bugger.

One of my mates told me on Wednesday last week that her Mum has just been diagnosed with Alzheimers. Sounds horrible.

I guess the good side of it is that you dont remember having it ? My uncle has altzheimers we play chinese wispers with him and he loves it !

Well 4 days after invalid accident, I came out from work today too tired to shut my car door. Drove off and scraped the rear passenger side alloy now So thats 2 massive scrapes in 5 days and I think I might cry . Im thinking now of giving it a go repairing them myself and then if it goes tits up getting them recoated black. Has anyone had their alloys recoated a different colour and what did they come out like ? Anyone recommend anywhere at all ? I kinda wanted black alloys to start with - dont even know if they will look ok ?
