Hi - I've got the Seat factory fit satnav, it's a lifesaver for me really, I do many miles on business and nevery get lost anymore, it's good for routing out of jams, calculating how far you have left to travel and estimated time of arrival. The sound of the stereo comes from the unit too, seems better than the standard HU, plus makes the dash not look so sparce. It is an expensive option, so don't just buy it cos it looks good, well not unless you have cash to burn!!!!

I've uploaded a pic of mine so you can see what it looks like....

Yeah the SEAT Sat Nav looks very cool. Unfortunately it was a tad too much for what you got really, as I posted earlier the system they put in the Ferrari 360 or whatever is cheaper...

If you're willing to burn the cash and need the unit or just wanna show off I'd go for it.

Rob, looks good. Also see you have the Snooper S6-R Neo Like me. 2 Questions. 1) I see the snooper GPS Antena on the dash, wheres the one for Sat Nav? 2) Can you be using Sat Nav and listen to CD's at the same time?

Oh and 1 more :) how much is it as an after install?

For the amount of money asked over here (4200 Euros) the Seat system is rubbish. The system works with an annoying Belgian accent and updates are expensive and quite hard to get.
Save your money and buy the much cheaper Alpine INA 333 R (DVD) or a more expensive top line Pioneer/Alpine/Becker system (that works with postal codes)
By the way in Holland OEM Vag systems (which are sold as Seat) are sold (including cd changer) for less than 999 Euro's and they are exactly the same as delivered by Seat.

Leon R, I was looking at the Alpine one. Quite fancy the descreat look of the Nav that look like a normal headunit, they are cheaper, give simple arrow / road displays and talk also. Seems like the better cheaper option when I get my R.

The satnav antena is on the roof of the car, at the base of the radio aerial. Basically it's a round antena which looks like part of the car aerial.

The satnav is very good as you can adjust the volume of the voice. When you're listening to music, you can hear the commands over the top of the music, but you can set it to your required volume. I've got a bluetooth car kit fitted for my phone that mutes the stereo and the voice comes out of the car speakers, even when the stereo is muted on phone, you can still hear the satnav commands at a half muted volume so it does't put you off your conversation. All in all works very well.

Afraid I don't know how much it would be to retro fit after getting the car, probably more expensive that from factory due to labour and additional dash bits to accomodate the unit.

Rob, where have you put the laster detector, could u fit it under the bonet.

I've mounted it behind the bottom grille on the mounting bracket you get supplied with the S6, there is a bolt dead centre on the car, I've drilled the plate and bolted that using the bolt already on the car. I couldn't find an easier place to mount it outside the car other than that.

No I've not got any of the laser unit and how I installed it. I'll try and get some and post them up sometime soon. The cable is tied up to the left hand side of the car and along the bonnet release cable, then it goes into the cabin through a rubber gromet on the left hand side (Behind the fuse box).
