Anyone going to Santa Pod this weekend for the FIA Main Event - first round of the European Drag Racing Championship?

Provided it is dry, we will be there on the Monday.

Did you end up going in the end?
Me and the other half went on Monday, picked a good day me thinks as Saturday and Sunday got rained off apparently. Monday was gorgeous with lots of action to keep you on your toes

Yes, we went on the Monday, I think it was only the Saturday which was affected by rain. Monday saw some good racing, I took a friend who was into bikes, in fact her BF races drag bikes, but not like the top fuels!!

Those top fuel cars were something else, I've seen them a couple of times before and they are awesome.

You do have to question what that jet car is all about, though and why it has large back wheels?

I love it all, was brought up at Santa Pod (dad raced top fueller).
Did have a few heart stopping meoments like when that guy fell off the bike, and when a couple of them started to wobble lol - but it all made for a good day.
I had a look on their website and they were offering discounts if you show your sat/sunday ticket at the next event as they were both rained off, so I guess we picked the best day eh
Boyfriend wanted to stand in the barn when the jet car went up, but I held him back, he couldnt understand why until this HUGE cloud of smoke filled it lol, then he was thanking me lmao, have made that mistake too many times, now have the lungs of an 80 year old lmao

Stood up on the banking there was a pretty stiff cross-wind, and those bikes don't look easy to steer with only one wheel on the floor!

The guy that spewed it at the end of the run had a broken arm, lucky really.

And one of the top fuel car drivers seemed to be crispy after he went up in flames.

Yeah, the barn is a no-go area when the jet-car starts up. They do try to warn the crowd but nobody believes the commentator!
