Hi
New to forum but had my Leon TDI SE for 5 years now and its been the most reliable car I have had. Our drive is a steep down hill off the road and over the past 9 months when the car has more than just two front passengers the plastic panels located under the rear seat area scrap on the lip of the drive. The panels have a piece towards the back that I presume works as a warning before you do damage - not sure of the technical name for them!
Anyway I have had several people check the rear springs etc to ensure none have broken causing the car to ride lower than it should and they are fine. The problem seems to be getting worse!
I decided to again put the back of the car on ramps tonight and I think the issue is that the plastic trays whilst fixed securely have sagged at the back edge so hang down too far. There's a clear inch gap between the metal under pan and the plastic panel to the point where I can slide my hand between them at the back.
Has anyone else had any issue like this?
For now I have managed to use a couple of tie wraps around the metal handbrake carriers to pull the up towards the underneath of the car making sure they still hang slightly lower than anything else. But this is only a temp fix.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Rob
