Safe Mode Recall

Hi All,
Had a call from the dealer today ref a recall for a software update to do with Safe Mode. Anyone any idea what this is about ?

It might be the limp home mode sometimes called safe mode. I haven't had a recall on that. It's going to be the model and what's fitted. A sensor may incorrectly put you in limp home mode. I've had that with the Altea TDI where the turbo boost pipe blew off. All you can do in limp home mode is literally crawl in it. You wouldn't want the car to suddenly go into limp home mode moving at any speed. In my case a clip had come off the turbo boost pipe that holds it, funny enough it had been just serviced, driven back to me by the garage. I started it and it went straight in limp home mode. I believe the dealer blew the pipe off in the smoke test, glued it on and it blew. I say glued since that was their temporary offered fix, they didn't have any clips in stock. Funny that.
