Safe immobiliser problems

Hi can anyone please help I'm new here and have a problem with my seat altea tdi 2007
It goes in safe mode every so often and you can't start the car it displays safe in the speedo start the cuts out after a second I get an error code 01176 key, can anyone help me or as anybody had the same and fix this? Thanks

Have you got a spare key? If so use it for a while and see what happens.

Seems like your immo chip may be at fault (has it been dropped lately?), or your ignition barrel electronics might need looked at

Hi thanks It happens with both keys,
I've been trying to ring some auto electrians but the say we need to see the car when it's faulting, could there be a loose connection round the clocks or the ignition? Thanks
