I've installed a Becker Grand Prix Head unit & was considering upgrading the speakers.
DLS R6A's seem to be a good option but would these sound any good running off the head unit or would I need to amp them?
Don't really want the hassle of installing amps etc to be honest.

Amps aren't that much hassle to install and if you've gone to the expense of fitting a decent HU and front components ... then maybe a small Genesis or one of the Alpine V12 amps would be a nice 'upgrade' but in the short term why not just fit them and see what you think?

I would also tap your speaker grills on each front door - they may well vibrate more than you've realised ... a little hot glue gun action from the inside will fix that :)

That's a NICE amp with a decent power output and it's not overly large either.

Those are the speakers I ended up getting and i have no complaints whatsoever about them - bought them off a chap on the TalkAudio forums, one of their registered traders.

I have a Becker GP and DLS R6A. I didn't try them running off the head unit though. They are running from a Genesis P4 amplifier.
Sounds great.
