Running / Idling Issues???

Slight problem with my ibiza, seems to be getting a bit worse, basicly when driving its fine but when i come to a stop the engine drops to idle and then it seems to be missing / running very lumpy, i have noticed that it happens more when im on the brakes and i have got an ABS fault .. could it be related??

My first thought was MAF but it was replaced a couple of thousand miles ago, got a VAG COM run of it anyway just incase it might be faulty, does this look ok? (not a straight run, was around town!)

Can't you do a proper uphill MAF test by using more revs? 3rd gear uphill pull from 2k to near redline.

I didnt get a chance today as i was running around all day! I will do a proper test tomorrow and post the results, what should i expect to see as an actual reading, its supposidly requesting 850 at all times? The car is mapped, bigger turbo / injectors / exhause ect!

I will also hopefully sort out the ABS problem as its getting realy bad now!

Take the ABS out and reduce some weight :)

I hate ABS, proper pants..!

My Leon requests 810 at all times, heres my results from a Stage 1 pd150 Leon.

"should" have been done a year ago but im not 100% sure on that, however i used Redex with some tesco fuel a couple of tanks ago and im beggining to think the Redex was VERY old, god knows how long its been st on the shelf! Im going to have a service at the beggining of august but the problems getting worse, when ever i let off the throttle it judders badly (but idle speed remains steady) a blip of the throttle usualy clears it but the more im driving the worse its doing it! Ive just put some millers sport 4 in but itl take a tankfull to get working!

If i was to change the fuel filter myself whats the procedure?? And where does the MK3 Ibiza's filter sit??

Thanks!

Just been for a 50 mile round trip, the juddery idle isnt happening as badly, could the millers started working through already?? Im going to change the fuel filter tomorrow and see if it makes a difference ... if i can find it! Is it a big cylinder type filter with 4 pipes coming off attached to the suspension strut? Do i need to fill it with diesel first and anyideas on price??

OK; i have changed the filter and its made no difference!

When the engine is cold it runs fine, once it warms up to temp it will start to judder, but only when im slowing down and come of the clutch, as the engine drops to idle it struggles a little but evens itself out within a couple of seconds!

Never has trouble starting and never cuts out, MAF is good and the filter is now brand new...

Any more ideas??

air filter is atandard but ive not checked its clean! Will have a look later at that! Im starting to think it might be a split in a vac hose or somthing!! But air filter is an obvious one i missed thanks!!

So anymore ideas guys? I will need to whack the air filter out tomorrow and check it out but i dont think that could do it, as the juddering is so intermittent! Runs fine when cold but judders when warmed up (on idle only!) Realy annoying me now!! Maybe it would be a good idea to start replacing the VAC lines??

Editing your spelling
there was a big problem with 'slow down shudder' on the old 90 TDIs which they never really fixed, some people on tdi club managed to fix by messing with the injection quantity in vag com. Im thinking it might be worth checking with your mapper to see if its fuel injection quanity is ok.

I seem to have a problem like this, not the same, but get a juddery from the engine at 1400rpm. For example, if i use cruise control and set at 1400rpm the car judders slightly and will keep doing it until i increase or decrease the revs slightly. I think this is down to the injection quantity mate. Check with AmD. Mine is going back in soon and they are hopefully going to sort this out too :)
