Running cool

2l 16v seems to be running a bit cool of late.

Engine normally operates with oil temp at 92-98 deg C and the coolant bang in the middle at the 12 o clock position.

Now the coolant look to be slightly cooler and the oil temp in the high 70s to mid 80s deg C.

Oil and coolant level seem fine and generally seems to be running ok.

Any ideas?

Sticky thermostat??

Mine did the same a few winters ago

sticky thermostat would mean it would take alot longer to get up to temp, but I would have thought it would come up eventually though....

noticed in my old Cordy that the coolant temp would drop when coasting down a very long hill...

2 hours at 6am along M-way did not see it over 84 deg C at all, normaaly loaded up it would be in the mid to high 90 deg C and when the weather is hot it would nudge over 100 deg C. Exactly the same on the evening drive home via Northampton.

I don't think it is sticky thermo as it gets up to temp quickly enough but just seems to run a lot cooler.
